School Day

  1. School Commences - 8:55 am
  2. Morning Break - 10:30-10:50 am
  3. Lunch - 12:30 - 1:30 pm
  4. School Finishes - 2:55 pm

At lunch time the second bell rings at 12:45. Children are released for play if they have finished their lunch. The grounds are supervised at all times, including morning break and lunch. Junior school children's supervision ensures the younger children eat and drink at the designated breaks.

Homework
Homework is a good way for parents to understand what is happening in the classroom and to assess your child's progress. Homework reinforces your child's daily learning. We encourage you to spend time with your child discussing their time at school and assist them in learning how to budget their time to complete their homework.

Meetings with Teachers
There are both formal and informal opportunities to meet with teachers so that you have a clear view of school activities and your child’s performance.

Formal
Meetings with teachers are usually held in Terms One and Four. These structured meetings provide the opportunity to meet one-on-one with your child’s teacher to discuss any concerns you or the teacher may have.

You will be informed of the structure and timing of the formal meetings well in advance.

Informal
The teaching team welcome parents/caregiver's direct interaction. They are happy to be available by appointment to discuss your child's progress. A child's welfare is our primary concern and any issues raised will be immediately addressed by either the class teacher or the Principal. An appointment can be made through a note to the teacher or a phone call to the school. Many parents take the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom in the morning before the school day starts and the teachers make every effort to be in the classroom each morning to interact with children and their parents as they look through their child’s work.

Do You Have a Concern?
If after your meeting you feel you need to discuss issues further, please contact the Principal. Where you still have concerns, you may write to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, where the matter will be addressed in accordance with the school's complaints procedures.
